Parade of Dreams 2007

Reporting on Chingay 2007, it's my 1st time sitting so close to the performers and watching the parade. It's a free half lane sitting so I was quite disappointed with my spot.

So there I was at Orchard with Jasmine waiting to enter the place at 6.30pm. We can't sit in front of the spectators stand. :( Why???!!! We came early! )

Anyway, while waiting for the performance to start, we munch away our 2nd Subway sandwich meal for the day. A couple sat next to us and they are from the same camera camp as me! Nikon! Theirs look pretty new. D80....

I felt pretty handicapped with my 50mm lens compared to their 18-200 VR lens... Oh well, just be happy with what I have. :p

This is also my 1st time shooting for such events. I have my flash but I don't like the effect. Perhaps I should attend a 'Flash-photography-during-events-for-dummies".

As the sun begins to retreat to the other end, the street lights came on and pre-parade began. Dang! I'm sitting right in front where the spotlights are shinning on. I ended up with only a few angles to take o_o . That's why I have the picture effect (see picture above)

We didn’t get to watch the performances in full as we are blocked by MANY media people and guards. What a waste. So we have to ogle at the up coming performers and snap.

The performers we love best are those from the Japanese Association, Singapore American School and some cheer leaders/ break dancers. Click my Flickr badge on the right for more pictures.

I know it's late! But better than NEVER!!! I want more holidays!!!i'm a slacker!!! YES I AM!!!

Went for a full day of shoot at Sentosa and fireworks... 1st time shooting the inner beauties of flowers and there's so many views to it. Not only tat, it's a challenge!

After all, i had fun.

Saw this little heron again while i'm on my way for my personal time. Have been seeing these birds around recently.
Wasnt so common when i 1st moved to my current home. Only seen a blue king fisher 3 times for like 8years? Those little birds are too fast for me than little heron.

I love to see birds in flight... esp eagles. Been spotting eagles or hawks at my work place.

Sometimes i wish tat i'm a bird. So i can travel without the need for passport. Ok ok...i'm spouting nonsense...

Defects into beauty?

Feel like a long long time that i have not blogged. Have been very very very very busy with work.

Presentation, emails, drawings this and that.

For today, i did something different.

I went to take pictures of a completed project. Boss's kah-ki not available...so ask me kah-kia to do it.

Sounds fun, but is not... today's weather is hot n sunny. Giving e fungus on my arms more nutrients to grow... NO NO NO...

After going thru 30mins of taxi-uncle chit chat, i started goin around snapping and wondering what boss wants... Headache... i've decided to take what i see.

I got a habit of taking things with the sky. Guess its just my style. The wall still has plastering touch up to do. Quite a patch of dots of it. In what i took, it seems like part of the design. Unless someone is that free to stare and notice it.

Oh well. Can't wait to see the master's take on the project. Master. Must learn from him.

Back from the land of thousand smiles. Wonderful place.... after spending time under the sun shooting, i look like one of the locals.... :D

I've been listening to Mr Brown Show ever since the Ba chor mee pod cast, poking fun at the James Gomez saga.

I noticed since November onwards, it's been getting less entertaining even with more people on the show. No longer that funny lamness. Instead, it's lame lamness. Not funny leh.... Got "zho kang" or not.

Recently there's one that Can-Make-It, is the "closing down sale" pod cast. Commenting on how our proud, grand, patriotic-feel National Stadium.

I agreed they sort of drag the tearing down "sale". Don't want to elaborate too much, but u can check with those ppl who have participate in NDP or SYF.

I really have to remind myself to take a picture of this old dame before the bulldozers starts sticking it's "claws" on her walls.

Supposed to be LAST NDP. 2004.......End up 2006 is back in National Stadium....... =_='''

New Toy coming, New Idea!

Oh well, EVERYONE is talking bout i Phone (i believe) EVERY MINUTE as i'm typing this.
The Mac world has announced and gave a presentation on their new baby, i phone.

Someone on clubsnap even said that soon, everything become i Wants.



The baby look fabulous. Sleak look with it's black background. With all the "chili padi" inside, it's way cool.



This leads to a discussion i had wif an ex-collegue of mine over MSN.

Both of us own the 2nd gen of ipods(the one wif 4 buttons and abit fat). Both of us drooled over the i phone. I mentioned that i'm quite thankful that i've not purchase my pda(not until i heard e news that it will hit asia in 2008).



I need something to keep all my NTUC, Cold storage price list in. Sound damn aunty rite.



BUT.... I was given an idea!
Can do a website and update...aunties will log on and check all the prices!

The local supermarkets will pay for ad space and fight for getting the cheapest prices in SG!


Ok ok... i sound aunty and $$$ thoughts are coming in. Oh well. Just want something to record my price list mah...
